Making Choices with the Outer Planet Transits: Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto
by: Mary Fortier Shea
This article was originally published in LLewellyn's New World Series: How to Personalize the Outer Planets, edited by Noel Tyl, 1992. The interpretations of the outer planets, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto transiting the personal natal planets Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars are derived from Ms. Shea's twenty to thirty years as an astrologer and counselor in private practice. The interpretations are both psychological and spiritual. Actual chart examples are given.

Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto and How to Observe Them
by: Richard Schmude
This book is for two groups of people: those who want to study the remote planets with amateur astronomical equipment, and those who are just interested in learning about our knowledge of the remote planets. The Remote Planets, and How to Observe them is unique in that it gives a completely up-to-date summary of our current knowledge of the remote planets, and also explains how amateur astronomers can contribute to our knowledge of the remote planets. Readers are given some inspiring examples of people who, with modest commercially-made equipment, have made important contributions to our scientific knowledge.

Neptune
by: Seymour Simon
When Galileo first glimpsed Neptune almost four hundred years ago, he mistook it for a star. Only since the Voyager 2 spacecraft whizzed past the eighth planet in 1989 have we begun to understand this turbulent world. With stunning photographs, from Neptune's clouds of methane-ice to its Great Dark Spot, a hurricane big enough to swallow Earth, this masterful introduction to the furthest reaches of our solar system will delight any young astronomer. Another journey in Seymour Simon's bestselling series about the stars and planets.

neptune - The blue planet
Neptune is the eighth and outermost-known planet from the Sun in the Solar System. Named for the Roman god of the sea, it is the fourth-largest planet by diameter and the third-largest by mass. Neptune is 17 times the mass of Earth and is slightly more massive than its near-twin Uranus, which is 15 Earth masses and not as dense.[12] On average, Neptune orbits the Sun at a distance of 30.1 AU, approximately 30 times the Earth-Sun distance. Its astronomical symbol is , a stylized version of the god Neptune's trident. Discovered on September 23, 1846,Neptune was the first planet found by mathematical prediction rather than by empirical observation. Unexpected changes in the orbit of Uranus led astronomers to deduce that its orbit was subject to gravitational perturbation by an unknown planet. Neptune was subsequently found within a degree of its predicted position, and its largest moon, Triton, was discovered shortly thereafter, though none of the planet's remaining 12 moons was located telescopically until the 20th century. Neptune has been visited by only one spacecraft, Voyager 2, which flew by the planet on August 25, 1989. Neptune is similar in composition to Uranus, and both have compositions which differ from those of the larger gas giants Jupiter and Saturn. Neptune's atmosphere, while similar to Jupiter's and Saturn's in that it is composed primarily of hydrogen and helium, along with traces of hydrocarbons and possibly nitrogen, contains a higher proportion of ...
